Synopsis

The innovations in agricultural and allied enterprises must reach the farmers for adoption of modern technologies to achieve rural development. Extension workers play a vital role in transferring the technology from the research institution to farmer’s field. Extension worker is a change agent who involved in enriching the knowledge level of farmers, changing their attitude and increasing their skill. The rural people possess different settlement pattern, social status, cultural pattern, values etc,. The sociological and cultural aspects differ from individual to individual, place to place and region to region. The basic principles of extension are to educate the farmer in the aspects of how to think and not what to think.
